Even at this early stage, Starcraft II is looking to be an amazing game. Both Protoss and Terran were available to play in a preview Single player mission, or head to head in Multiplayer. The game play which made the original so successful remains unchanged for the most part. The addition of new units adds more diversity to the tactics and strategies available to the player. On the Terran side, there is the Viking; a unit which is capable of transformation, giving it ground or air capability. Also new is the powerful Thor, a unit so massive it must be constructed outside of the factory via an SCV. The Banshee, a new flying unit, unleashes an array of missiles on its enemies: highly effective against a squad of ground units. Finally, the Firebat unit has been removed; one of the less popular units from the original. The Protoss remain mostly unchanged since their debut in
The User Interface resembles the original but subtle improvements enhance the experience. Notable additions include; capability to select an unlimited number of units, queue able commands for worker units, and increased resolution settings.
