Why is it in every game the majority of players decide they enjoy one single map (maybe two), out of the 15-35 available options?  In counterstrike you have de_dust2 and cs_office.  Team Fortress 1 & 2 had 2fort (granted teamfortress2 finds a lot more map variety with arena mode now)  Starcraft had python, and Quake has fucking Campgrounds.

Now what the hell is it about Campgrounds that makes it such good map?  Is there something special in the way its designed, was this design intentional or did players just take a liking to it?  Is everyone on planet earth a useless robotic pile of rat shit?
